Greenville County Schools debuts $1.1M wearable emergency button system for staff

Greenville County Schools rolled out a $1.1 million wearable panic button system on Aug. 27, giving teachers instant access to emergency alerts they say could save precious seconds in a crisis.

School officials unveiled the security software at Taylors Elementary, the test site for the system. Greenville County Schools Director of Security and School Safety Greg Porter described the Raptor Technology badge as a wearable panic button device for school staff to instantly initiate emergency alerts. The system has been implemented in each of the district schools.
