Florida Man Busted Again, Now For Trying To Use Debit Card As Driver’s License

William Walters, with a history of serious crimes, is back in custody after a routine traffic stop.

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A Winter Haven man with a lengthy rap sheet is back behind bars after a traffic stop led to his seventh arrest and more charges.

On Wednesday, 57-year-old William Lee Walters was pulled over in Lakeland by a Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy who noticed his white Cadillac SUV swerving over the double yellow lines. During the stop at a gas station on Socrum Loop Road, Walters was asked for his driver’s license but instead offered the deputy a debit card.

A quick check revealed that Walters’ license had been suspended just two days earlier. He was reportedly aware of the suspension, as his supervisor had told him about it and even suggested he find a ride home. Ignoring the advice, Walters chose to drive anyway…
