Lexington man convicted for illegally modifying guns, drug trafficking

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington man has been convicted as a result of a three-day trial with a federal jury for converting a pistol into a machine gun, and holding “hundreds of rounds of ammunition” and “a large amount” of drugs at his residence in his downtown apartment.

Keith Lamont Stallworth, 41, was convicted after a 40-minute deliberation on Aug. 27, according to the US Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Department of Justice (DOJ) officials said Stallworth had previously pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl as well as 50 or more grams of methamphetamine. He also pleaded guilty to using a residence for the purpose of manufacturing and distributing controlled substances.

During an August 2023 trial testimony, he was reportedly arrested in possession of a pistol that held high-velocity rifle rounds and an extended magazine that could hold almost 30 more rounds…
