Pensacola will say farewell to civil rights icon Rev. H.K. Matthews at a Memorial Celebration at 6 p.m. Aug. 28 at Brownsville Community Center, 3200 W. DeSoto St.
The celebration will feature tributes from civic leaders, clergy, historians and more, as well as gospel choir performances. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple in honor of Matthews commitment to peace.
