CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A new initiative from the U.S. Department of Transport is aiming to improve safety and mobility on roads. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy wants crosswalk art like the checkered flag crosswalk in Indianapolis and the pride crosswalk in Orlando removed from crosswalks across the nation.
A letter sent to governors by Secretary Duffy said “roads are for safety not political messages or artwork.”
