LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – This week, Little Rock has become the national stage for a powerful conversation in keeping the dream of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr alive.
The city is hosting the first-ever National MLK Commissioners Legacy Conference—a historic milestone that has brought leaders, youth and changemakers from across the country to Arkansas for a multiday event focused on unity, service and tangible community empowerment.

At the heart of the conference, Vanessa Williams-Nash, CEO and Executive Director of the Conference of Black Mayors, delivered a resounding message: “We are our brother’s keeper.” Her call emphasized the need for grassroots community mapping, identifying local strengths and connecting with federal resources to address economic development, housing and education.
“We ourselves are our own answers to the problems that we see,” said Williams-Nash. “Dr. King was a consensus builder—he brought people together from different walks of life to build community. That’s what we must continue to do.”…
