Man who found Bryan Vasquez says 2 alligators involved in death: ‘Never seen anything like that’

The United Cajun Navy volunteer who found 12-year-old Bryan Vasquez dead in a New Orleans East lagoon earlier this week said Thursday that two alligators surfaced with the boy’s body after storing it under water.

Aided by a thermal drone, volunteer Jon Gusanders discovered Bryan floating in the lagoon at around 8 a.m. Tuesday, putting an end to a 12-day, multi-agency search. The New Orleans coroner determined he died from blunt force trauma and drowning sustained during an alligator attack.
