WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Sedgwick County is remembering Judge Bruce Brown, who served on the district court for nearly two decades, following news of his passing.
Brown began his career as an assistant district attorney in Woodward, Oklahoma, before working in Tulsa, the U.S. Army JAG Corps, and later in Salina and Wichita. In 2008, he was elected to the Sedgwick County District Court, where he served for 17 years.

In a social post, county officials said that Brown was known for his fairness, integrity, and commitment to the law. His colleagues also remembered his sense of humor and warmth in the workplace. His longtime assistant shared one lighthearted memory: Brown once brought his pet pig, Gertie, to the courthouse in a stroller, delighting everyone who saw it.
