A Cumberland County man was sentenced to more than a decade in prison recently for killing a friend and — with the help of his father — hiding the man’s body under a mobile home on Arlington Street near Hope Mills in 2023.
On Aug. 7, Jeffery Lennon Walters, 36, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and concealment of death in the killing of Aaron Ray Ralston, 36, of Hope Mills. Court records show that Walters was sentenced to 10 years, four months to 14 years, six months in prison.
