Warrick County Councilman calls Animal Control budget claims “a lie”

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – Elected officials in Warrick County say claims that animal control is not funded are not true. That’s in response to a social media post that accused the county council of taking away their budget. Warrick County Commissioner Sarah Millis-Seaton responded with a post of her own, which you can read in full below.

“I am disturbed with the misrepresentation of directive given to our Animal Control supervisor. There was never instruction given by the office of Commissioners or County Council that would deprive animals in its care of food, necessary vet care or clean keepings. It’s a fact that the County Council has been receptive to their needs and is working with us to appropriate funds for the remainder of this year and to develop an adequate budget for 2026. There is no need to rain down fire upon them. The instruction has simply been to do what millions of households in the country are doing right now- evaluate spending and find ways to cut back as much as possible. Inflation hits government as much as it hits the private sector and funds are not unlimited. To spend as if they are is irresponsible to the county taxpayers. – Sarah Millis-Seaton via Facebook
