Louisville mom calls for local bullying protocol change with help of national expert

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Suicide Hotline is open 24/7 and can be reached by dialing 988.

Audra Upshaw fought back tears as she talked about her 12-year-old son, Silas Pollock. The curious and strong-willed boy would have started seventh grade at Farnsley Middle School this school year, but died by suicide in April.

Upshaw said her son was relentlessly bullied. She didn’t realize the full extent until after his death, saying there are videos of her son being bullied…
