Venice council rejects settlement proposal in dispute with developer Pat Neal over Vistera

VENICE – For the second time in 16 months the Venice City Council denied a request by developer Pat Neal to add 317 homes to his proposed Vistera development.

The council’s vote was 4-3.

But on Aug. 26 – unlike April 9, 2024, when a majority of the board voted against an increase in the number homes from 1,300 to 1,617 – the four objecting board members opposed to the prospect of an assisted living facility being 65-feet tall and adding 317 homes to a 17-acre parcel fronting Laurel Road…
