Syracuse bar attempts to reopen as restaurant after shutdown by city

Syracuse, N.Y. — A Syracuse bar is attempting to reopen its doors as a restaurant after being shut down by city lawmakers in December.

The Syracuse Common Council voted unanimously on Dec. 23 to revoke Taste of Brooklyn Sports Bar’s special permits to operate following numerous complaints from residents about criminal activity and noise generated by patrons of the business.

Two people were shot and killed in separate late-night shootings outside the bar in Valley Plaza last summer…
