(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Trees were toppled, power was out, and homes and vehicles were damaged after severe weather hit a neighborhood in southeast Colorado Springs on Thursday, Aug. 28.
According to FOX21 News viewers Caleb and Julia Krull, who live in the area, the storm hit around 6:45 p.m. and made them think they were in the middle of a tornado. Large trees were toppled, some on top of cars, and just under 300 customers were without power in the area Thursday evening, according to the Colorado Springs Utilities outage map.
That number had dropped down to just over 150 without power going into the overnight hours…
