AURORA, Colo. — The State of Colorado has filed suit against the owners of M&M Mobile Home Park in Aurora, accusing them of failing to notify residents about contaminated drinking water, disregarding multiple state orders, and refusing to pay tens of thousands of dollars in penalties.
The case marks one of the first major enforcement actions under Colorado’s new Mobile Home Park Water Quality Act, a law passed in 2023 to safeguard the health of mobile home park residents.
According to the complaint filed by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) on Wednesday, tap water samples collected at the M&M Mobile Home Park on June 26, 2024, tested positive for total coliform bacteria and E. coli bacteria.
