Silver Alert issued for missing man last seen traveling from Wilmington to Charlotte

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing 76-year-old man who was last seen traveling from Wilmington to Charlotte.

According to the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons (NCCMP), James Ingram Mullis, also known as Jim, is 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighs around 300 pounds. NCCMP says that Mullis is believed to be suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s.

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, dark jogger-style pants, one white shoe, and one medical boot. He was driving a silver 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, NC plate KDB4416, with a busted-out back passenger side brake light and damage to the passenger side back bumper.

NCCMP states that the reporting person and Mullis were following each other traveling from Wilmington to Charlotte when the reporting person lost sight of Mullis. The reporting person believes Mullis took the wrong exit on Highway 74 toward Asheboro…
