(WJET/WFXP)– Local organizers are inviting the public to join them downtown for Erie’s part in a national day of protest over the influence of billionaires in the federal government and a visit from the United States Secretary of Labor.
Protestors are set to gather in Perry Square on Monday, September 1, with organizers saying it’s in opposition to the influence over the country’s political landscape given to billionaires over the working people of the country.

The protest is set to start at 11:30 a.m. in Perry Square.
Organizers also said the protest comes as a response to Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s plans to be part of the City of Erie’s Labor Day Parade, riding with local union workers…
