The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has released preliminary details and body-worn camera video regarding an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in the area of East 25th Street near Buckman Street.
The incident involved 30-year-old Brian Gillis, who had a documented history of mental health issues. Family members and neighbors reported that Gillis had been disassociated from reality in the days leading up to the event.
