City officials and community members broke ground on the planned, 6,000-square-foot expansion of the Ocala Skate Park on Thursday morning.
Ocala City Council members, city staff, and members of the community gathered on Thursday morning to kick off construction of the expansion at the park, which is located at 517 NE 9th Street.
The expansion will incorporate more than 6,000 square feet in upgrades, including a new competition-sized bowl, a snake run, and new beginner and intermediate areas.
Additionally, improvements will be made to the spectator amenities at the park.
According to the city, the park will stay open during most of the expansion. Construction is expected to be complete by February 2026…
