From Italy to Toledo: Micro apartments coming to downtown

If all goes well, just one year from now you won’t need to be a Fortune 500 CEO or a high-ranking public official to live large on a budget in one of Toledo’s tallest buildings.

Floors 5 through 12 of the Tower on the Maumee, the skyscraper formerly known as the Fiberglas Tower and located at the corner of North St. Clair Street and Jefferson Avenue, are being redeveloped as micro unit apartments ranging in size from 400 to 700 square feet.

Full-size apartments in the 30-story building run from 719 to 1,700 square feet.“These units will be a practical space for the everyday person who’s coming and going and just wants a place to lay their head,” said Haley Twine, the building’s property manager. “They will make downtown living more attainable for the average person.”…
