New program allows UNM student nurses to provide care to Albuquerque shelter residents

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Through a new pilot program, UNM nursing students can get hands-on training by providing care at the City of Albuquerque’s Gateway West shelter.

This month, students completed a three-week rotation at the shelter and worked with about 100 residents, according to a news release from the city.
