Cumberland Winds Jazz Project concert coming up in September with guest artist Rory Hoffman

CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Cumberland Winds Jazz Project will present its annual Guest Artist Concert on Friday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary at Clarksville’s First Presbyterian Church. The concert is free and open to the public.

This year, the Jazz Project is pleased to welcome Rory Hoffman to the stage as our guest artist. A Nashville musician, Rory crosses several musical genres as he plays over a dozen instruments. The concert will include tunes from the music libraries of Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman, Gordon Goodwin, Louis Bellson, and Chris McDonald, as well as an original arrangement and composition by Rory.

The Guest Artist Concert Series began in 2012 when the Cumberland Winds, a 501(c)3 non-profit, was awarded a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, which enabled the group to work with and perform with a Tennessee musical artist. Since that time, the Jazz Project has featured eleven artists who have collaborated on enjoyable and innovative programs. including drummer Chester Thompson, vocalist Calabria Foti, and trombonist Bob Mc Chesney.
