Personally, I can’t imagine paying for high school. Having attended public school my entire life, and my parents working as educators in said public school, forking out money for a diploma is far beyond my ability to grasp. That’s why, when I saw the annual tuition for Michigan’s most expensive private school, I nearly fell out of my reasonably priced chair.
Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate the advantages offered by a private high school education and the lifelong connections that are cemented, which can later evolve into networking and job opportunities. However, considering that some of Michigan’s private high schools cost double what Michigan State University students pay, I’m less certain the experience merits the bank-draining annual tuition.
