ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – In honor of the 101st burning of Zozobra, fifth-graders at Mission Avenue Elementary brought the tradition to life. Albuquerque Public Schools said the students spent weeks designing and assembling their own zozobras, which put their creativity and teamwork to the test.

APS said staff made sure to safely conduct the burning and sent the glooms that students wrote up into smoke.
