KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Knox County Schools superintendent Dr. Jon Rysewyk and other district leaders are sharing news about the next major KCS initiative as they celebrate student growth.
The school system is looking to expand innovative school options, like L&N STEM Academy and Career Magnet Academy, across the district. A survey has been launched to identify program options that most interest students and families, including language immersion, arts-integrated learning, outdoor classrooms, debate-focused instruction, and varied uses of technology. The feedback will help guide the district’s next steps in expanding programs across the district.
“We know that families want choice, and they want opportunities just across the whole district to be able to choose some innovative programming, some unique programming, so this survey will give us that information,” said Rysewyk. “Then we’ll be responsible as we move forward. That maybe launching programs or as we build new schools to make sure that we can give choice to families.”…
