JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Seventy years ago, on August 28, a teenage boy from Chicago was kidnapped from his uncle’s home in the Mississippi Delta.

Emmett Till, 14, was accused of flirting with a 21-year-old white woman at a store in the Money community, about ten miles north of Greenwood.

A few nights later, that woman’s husband and his half-brother abducted, tortured, and killed the teen and threw his body into the Tallahatchie River…
