Rain chances are drying up heading into the weekend

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Temperatures are well below average on this Friday afternoon due to widespread heavy rainfall across the area. Many spots are struggling to make it out of the 70s this evening under overcast skies with stray thunderstorms, but things are heating up as we head into the weekend.

Rain chances are more isolated throughout the weekend, with most areas experiencing partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s. While your Labor Day plans may not be entirely ruined by rain, it is a good idea to keep rain gear handy.
