ATLANTA — An Atlanta Police Department incident report and 911 calls offer some new insight into a motorcycle crash that killed the acclaimed heavy metal guitarist Brent Hinds in Atlanta this month.
Police have previously said Hinds, 51, was traveling on his Harley motorcycle on Boulevard SE when the crash happened on Aug. 20 at the intersection with Memorial Drive SE, at the corner of Oakland Cemetery. It was nearing midnight when the crash occurred, APD has said.
The department described a “failure to yield” by a BMW SUV turning left at the intersection, hitting the oncoming motorcycle being driven by Hinds. The Mastodon co-founder later died at Grady Memorial Hospital due to his injuries, according to the incident report for the crash…
