Jacksonville Authorities Renew Plea for Clues in Unsolved Homicide of Teen Johnathen Carter

The unsolved homicide of 15-year-old Johnathen Carter, who was shot near Vista Avenue and Sunderland Road in 2016, remains under investigation as the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) renews its call for public assistance.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, on July 6, 2016, officers found Johnathen with gunshot wounds. Investigators believe an altercation with an acquaintance led to the incident, but the suspect fled the scene and was never arrested.
