Texas man travels to Monroe Waffle House, shoots at ex-girlfriend

UPDATE (08/29/2025): On August 27, 2025, at 8:15 AM, deputies of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office were called to a shooting at a Waffle House on Desiard Street in Monroe, La. Upon arrival, they contacted a female victim and learned that the victim noticed a maroon vehicle parked in the parking lot that resembled her ex-boyfriend’s car.

According to court documents, the victim then opened the driver’s door of her vehicle, but she did not exit. Authorities were advised that the suspect suddenly appeared at the victim’s car, and she quickly closed the door, attempting to flee the scene.

The suspect allegedly had his hand in the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt when he approached the victim’s vehicle, pulling the victim’s vehicle door as she fled the scene. As the victim drove away from the parking lot, the suspect allegedly began shooting at her vehicle.

The victim’s vehicle became unusable after she turned into the parking lot of the ULM Police Department. During the investigation, deputies located three bullet holes in the victim’s car…
