Lake Charles, La. – Labor Day celebrations across Louisiana and Southeast Texas may be dampened by heavy rain and thunderstorms, with flash flooding remaining the biggest concern through Monday. Drivers in flood-prone areas should be prepared for possible water-covered roadways, especially in parts of Southeast Texas where the threat is highest.

According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, scattered to widespread showers will continue as a slow-moving boundary keeps moisture in place. Some storms could produce high rainfall rates in a short period of time, bringing localized flash flooding across southern Louisiana and Southeast Texas.
