Off/on showers/storms Labor Day weekend

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Rain and some thunderstorms may put a damper on holiday weekend activities, but the risk of hail and high winds remain very low and it shouldn’t be a washout.

The best chance for showers and occasional storms today will shift from northwest Kansas this morning, eastward by Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, the focus for storms will remain over central and eastern Kansas. Rainfall amounts will generally be less than 0.50″ for most, however a few locations may pick up over 1″ with a locally heavy downpour.

Expect highs to be in the 70s, which is cooler than normal for late August, however the humidity will remain on the high side…
