ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Balloon Fiesta Park hosted the Harvest Wine and Music Festival on Saturday to a few thousand people. Crowds of people came out to taste, talk, and sip with our local winemakers across the state, and soak in the last bit of summer. Whether you prefer more of a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, or you’re a crisp and sweet Moscato drinker, there’s a pour for you here.
Vendors tell KOB that it’s more than just wine — it’s a celebration of New Mexico’s land, culture, and a growing industry that’s getting more recognition every year.
“The legacy of New Mexico wine making is ingrained in America’s history,” said Chris Goblet, Executive Director of Harvest Wine & Music Festival. “We’ve been making wine for 397 years, 140 years before California planted their first grapes. So, I think it’s really embedded just in in the authenticity and just the history. But also, I think New Mexicans are proud of the wines that we make here.”…
