Calm, sunny skies dominate as high pressure builds over Great Basin

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The weekend is expected to be calmer than the work week and drier as high pressure builds over the Great Basin.

Temperatures will gradually warm, running close to or just above late-August averages as we hit the upper-80s in the Wasatch Front Sunday afternoon. Smoke starts to thin out Sunday across the state, which will be nice.

Labor Day gets even warmer as we push high temperatures into the low-90s with sunshine.
