The return of cooler air in the forecast for the start of the Holiday Weekend continues throughout the region today as afternoon highs could slip by an additional degree or two to round out the weekend. All this in spite of clearer skies and more widespread sunshine around Southwest Oregon, but the next big spike in temperatures is still a good ways off – at least for now.
While for now we’re still seeing the impacts from the cooler air associated with that weak cold front off to the west, this pattern won’t be sticking around for long. What it will do, however, is keep our afternoon highs in the lower 80s in the Willamette Valley, mid-80s in the Umpqua Valleys, and upper 60s along the Coast today.
