Hit-and-run crash in Makiki leaves woman hospitalized

MAKIKI, Hawaii (Island News) — A woman was badly injured in a hit-and-run collision that happened in the Makiki area on Friday night.

The pedestrian crash took place at about 8:40 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29 on Keeaumoku Street. According to police, a 53-year-old woman was struck by a driver who was heading south on Keeaumoku Street when she was in a marked crosswalk.

Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and took the woman to an emergency room in serious condition…
