Florida Highway Patrol Investigates Early Morning Crash
POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic incident unfolded on US-17 early Sunday morning when a pedestrian was fatally struck by a car. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported the collision occurred at approximately 2:25 a.m. north of Mirror Drive.
According to the FHP report, a 30-year-old Winter Haven man was driving a Toyota Camry southbound on US-17 when an adult female pedestrian entered his path from the center median turn lane.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was hit by the vehicle and succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver was not injured…
