Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex inmate dies after being found unresponsive in cell

WEST LIBERTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — An inmate at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex (EKCC) has reportedly died after being found unresponsive in his cell on Sunday morning.

According to an Aug. 31 news release from Kentucky State Police (KSP), Robert A. Broyles, 34, of Louisville, was found unresponsive during the staff’s morning inmate count.

He was reportedly taken to Appalachian Regional Hospital in Morgan County where he was pronounced dead.
