STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Staunton man has been arrested in Norfolk after fleeing the scene of an alleged shooting in Staunton Saturday morning.
Staunton Police say they received a call at around 9am reporting a shooting in the 100 block of Gray Avenue. The suspect then fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
The suspect, 44-year-old Charles Ray Smith of Staunton was later taken into custody by the Norfolk Police Department and charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, attempted murder, two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, reckless handling of a firearm, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting a firearm in a public space, and possession of a firearm by a felon…
