This year’s Fiestas Patrias San Antonio is more than just a nod to historical freedom—it’s a full-blown fiesta of cultural pomp.
According to an announcement by the City of San Antonio, District 3 Councilmember Phyllis Viagran emphasized the cultural significance of Hispanic Heritage Month, noting “This time is all about honoring the incredible achievements and lasting influence of Hispanic communities.” The cultural bonanza unfurls across several key events, including the 44th Annual Dieciséis de Septiembre Parade and a distinct series of Fiestas Patrias at the Historic Market Square. And yes, festivities are not complete without Mariachi music, which finds its stage at the Diez y Seis Mariachi Festival on October 11.
The ball gets rolling on September 12 with El Grito Civil Ceremony, hosted by the Consulate General of Mexico in San Antonio.
