Wichita, Kan. – Scattered showers and thunderstorms could dampen Labor Day plans across central and eastern Kansas, with the highest chances for storms Monday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, storm coverage will be uneven, but areas from Topeka to Emporia and Coffeyville hold a 50% or greater chance of rain through Monday evening. Wichita faces about a 40% chance of storms, while western counties such as Russell and Pratt will likely remain drier.
