CAIRO, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Purling man has been arrested after he allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with a 16-year-old, according to New York State Police. Kenneth Vlasaty, 25, faces several counts of felony rape charges.

Vlasaty was reportedly arrested on Friday following an initial investigation by the Town of Cairo Police Department and further investigation by State Police. The 25-year-old has been charged with the following:
Charges
- Third-degree rape, actor 21 or more — vaginal sexual contact with person less than 17 years old (seven counts, felony)
- Endangering the welfare of a child less than 17 (two counts, misdemeanor)
- First-degree unlawful dealing with a child (misdemeanor)
Following arraignment, Vlasaty was remanded to Greene County Jail and is scheduled to reappear in Town of Cairo Court on Wednesday. A stay-away order of protection has also been issued on behalf of the victim, State Police said.
