WATCH: Police arrest Chuck E Cheese in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — Chuck E. Cheese is best known as a place where a kid can be a kid, but earlier this summer in Tallahassee, it was a place where kids watched the mouse get arrested.

A woman told police she believed an employee at the restaurant had stolen her credit card and was using it at stores she didn’t shop at. She said she last saw the card at her child’s birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese about a month prior.

An arrest affidavit said the woman obtained surveillance footage from one of the stores where the card was fraudulently used, and immediately recognized the suspect as a Chuck E. Cheese employee. The man was later identified as 41-year-old Jermell Jones.

When police arrived at the restaurant on July 23, they saw Jones at the front entrance and noted that he looked nervous when he spotted the officer. He left the front, and another employee took his place. That employee then identified Jones as the one wearing the mouse costume.

One officer can be heard in the video telling Jones, “Chuck E., come with me, Chuck E.” Jones briefly resists the officers detaining him, but eventually lets them lead him to a patrol car…
