Dauphin-Middle Paxton Fire Company asks community for help to buy new engine

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Dauphin-Middle Paxton Fire Company is asking for the community’s help as it tries to replace its aging fire engine.

The department’s current 2008 KME Engine is nearly 20 years old and has already cost the company more than $18,000 in repairs over the past five years.

The department plans to replace the old engine with a new KME Engine/Rescue priced at $1.1 million. The new truck would give firefighters more room to carry life-saving equipment and include critical safety upgrades, like airbags, rollover protection and 360-degree cameras…
