Coolest Labor Day in years

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — It is officially September, and it is also Labor Day. We have beautiful weather for today with cool morning temperatures in the upper 50s inland and low 60s at the coast. High temperatures will make it into the low 80s, and the humidity will stay in check as the dew points will be in the 50s.

Normal Labor Day highs are near 85 in Myrtle Beach, and with today’s high near 80, this could be the coolest Labor Day in more than 20 years. The coolest in recent years was in 2016 at 83 degrees. In Florence, normally, Labor Day is near 88 degrees, and today’s forecast high near 82 would be the coolest since 2009.

Rain chances are low throughout the work week, with the better chance for a few scattered showers not until Thursday. Temperatures will gradually warm heading into next week into the low and mid-80s through Wednesday and then upper 80s for the end of the workweek…
