In Centennial Park, the “Workers Over Billionaires” demonstration, organized in part by the May Day Strong coalition, demanded five action items:

  3. “Fully funded schools, and healthcare and housing for all.”
  4. “Stop the attacks on immigrants, Black, indigenous, trans people, and all our communities.”
  5. “Invest in people not wars.”

Chants referenced President Donald Trump and signs referenced Tennessee’s upcoming special election for the 7th District, which came after Rep. Mark Green’s retirement announcement earlier this year.
