‘This room represents humanity’: Myrtle Beach Convention Center opens quiet space for neurodivergent community

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — The Myrtle Beach Convention Center is the first facility of its kind on the East Coast to have a quiet space for neurodivergent people to relax.

The convention center turned one of its storage rooms into the Serenity Spectrum Space with help from Meeting Professionals International and Google. It has warm, adjustable lighting that is comforting for someone feeling overstimulated, Convention Center spokesperson Tiffany Andrews said.
