TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The latest data from the CDC shows drug overdoses are down in Ohio by nearly 34% from 2024 to 2025. It’s one of the steepest declines in the country.
Despite the decline in overdoses, DEA officials say more work needs to be done and thousands of lives are still lost each year to overdose. The most recent data from the CDC shows Lucas County has the highest overdose death rate in Northwest Ohio.
