AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was found dead a day after he was reported missing Saturday night on Lake Buchanan, according to the Chief Chad Mitchell with the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department.
Mitchell said the fire department was informed the man, whose identity had yet to be released Monday, was reported missing around 8 p.m. Four hours earlier, he left in a blue and white kayak without a life jacket and “was headed across the lake to fish at the dam,” according to the fire department.
Along with Buchanan VFD, the Cassie Volunteer Fire Department, East Lake Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department and the Tow Volunteer Fire Department all searched with boats along the area where the man was last seen.
