Twins triumph at Nebraska State Fair with grand champion wins

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — At the Nebraska State Fair, dreams came true for competitors at the FFA State Championship Drive. The event allowed participants to showcase their swine, goats, cattle, and more in front of hundreds of spectators.

Allison Vavricek, who presented a goat named Onyx, expressed her joy at having her hard work recognized. “Just a lot of hard work and consistency. I don’t think you can win, especially with showing livestock without consistency. So, yeah, a lot of early mornings, late nights,” she said.

Hailing from Schuyler, Nebraska, Allison’s efforts paid off when she won first place in her category with her family cheering her on. “It’s kind of unbelievable, not going to lie. I don’t think it’s hit me yet,” she said. “This is my first year showing a goat, so, I don’t know, it’s pretty cool.” Allison earned the title of Grand Champion in FFA Market Goat and received a $5,000 check…
